Types of Skin Cancer – Location, Appearance
Skin cancer has become a global health concern. The incidence of skin cancer has increased throughout the world and this may be linked to the depleting ozone layer as well as changes in sun tanning and sunbathing practices from previous generations. There are three main types of skin cancer known as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. All types of skin cancer are potentially fatal unless proper treatment is received at the earliest possible stage.
While skin cancer is more prevalent in lighter skinned individuals, especially Caucasians, it can affect any ethnicity or skin complexion.
